TVS RESi Dry Floating Floor – Blaze Studio Birmingham by David Lloyd Clubs

When David Lloyd Clubs decided to open its first stand-alone boutique training studio in the heart of Birmingham, it turned to TVS Group to ensure acoustic performance matched the centre’s high intensity approach to training.

Client: David Lloyd Clubs
Main Contractor: DDI Projects
Acoustic Consultant: Cundall

Project Objective
Set in the centre of Birmingham, BLAZE Studio marked a significant first for David Lloyd Clubs. It was first stand-alone HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) Centre to be created outside its 64-strong network of UK and European Clubs.

But its creation in the heart of the city’s business district, and its planned dynamic and fast-paced HIIT sessions involving Cardio, Strength and Combat sessions synced to high energy music, presented potential acoustic issues. Acoustic Engineering Consultants Cundall and Main Contractor DDI Projects called on the specialist skills of TVS Acoustics to address the key areas of concern.

TVS installed its well-proven TVS RESI Dry Floating Floor System throughout the project area and even isolated individual boxing bags using specially designed isolation pads. It also decoupled the walls of the gym to prevent any noise transfer to adjoining properties. The measures ensured that the project met the extremely high standards of acoustic performance initially specified by Cundall and delighted client David Lloyd Clubs.
